The lecture addressed questions on the relations of AI technologies and democratic processes.

The desirable direction for the development of artificial intelligence are openness, the common good, and democratic oversight.

Through our artistic work, we at H.A.U.S. U.S., critique the utterly influential contemporary technologies of robotics and AI. We do not do this by working with AI systems offered by industry—as that would only allow for a very limited critique. Instead, we develop AI systems using methods of arts-based research.

Mit unserer künstlerischen Arbeit kritisieren wir die zeitgenössisch einflussreichen Technologien von Robotik und AI. Wir tun das nicht, indem wir mit KIs arbeiten, die von der Industrie angeboten werden – denn so wäre nur recht eingeschränkte Kritik möglich. Sondern wir entwickeln AIs mit Methoden des Arts-based-research. Wichtig sind dabei nicht ökonomische, sondern künstlerische Kriteren.
